(CARIFORUM Directorate, CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) - Representatives from Intellectual Property Offices and National EPA Coordinators of CARIFORUM States met with their European Union counterparts on recently to continue discussions for a CARIFORUM-EU Agreement for the Protection of Geographical Indications.
A revision of the Caribbean Community's draft Industrial Policy is necessary given the changing global and domestic economic environments, according to Dr. Wendell Samuel, CARICOM Assistant Secretary-General(Ag), Economic Integration, Innovation and Development.

CARICOM Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett has called on the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) to adopt realistic and practical decisions that everyone in the Community can rely on.

CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana - Friday, 6 September 2024: Many Caribbean youth remain unaware of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) and its benefits to their lives and future prosperity. This is due to several issues, including the fact that the CSME is not adequately incorporated into educational curricula and limited engagement and interest from youth. These barriers hinder their potential for growth and advancement through regional integration.
CARICOM Chair and Prime Minister of Grenada, Hon. Dickon Mitchell, was warmly welcomed to the CARICOM Secretariat today, Thursday, 29 August, by Dr Carla Barnett and members of staff. Prime Minister Mitchell is leading the delegation of the Tourism, Trade and Investment Mission to Guyana from 27-30 August 2024. This four-day event aims to improve trade relations between the two CARICOM countries.
Promoting Market Access Facilitation in CARICOM
The Caribbean Exporter Gateway (CARIBGATE) provides information on the market access conditions for products traded within the CSME and, for products from CARICOM Member States entering Cuba, Costa Rica or the Dominican Republic. Information on tariffs, Rules of Origin, Non-tariff measures (including SPS requirements, import licences and other duties and charges) and other information, will be available.
