UKAID

Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), UK Aid Direct supported small and medium sized civil society organisations (CSOs), based in the UK and overseas, to achieve sustained poverty reduction and the United Nations's Global Goals.

The fund was flexible, adaptive and demand-led, responding to UK government priorities. Project themes included conflict prevention, disability inclusion, education, ending modern day slavery, health, livelihoods, nutrition, WASH and women's empowerment.

The Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS)

The Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) was born from a shared vision — that of the countries of the Global South uniting to defend their common interests, strengthen their autonomy, and build a model of cooperation founded on equity, solidarity, and mutual respect.

United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)

UNFPA is the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency, working to uphold the rights and choices of women, girls and young people across more than 150 countries. Through our work, we ensure that every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person can fulfil their potential.

United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM)

UNIFEM is the women's fund at the United Nations. It provides financial and technical assistance to innovative programmes and strategies to foster women's empowerment and gender equality. In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. In doing so, UN Member States took an historic step in accelerating the Organization's goals on gender equality and the empowerment of women.

"In the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), we have seen the rise of formidable women leaders in government, the private sector and civil society, yet women remain underrepresented in formal political institutions and upper management roles. Only 2 of our 15 Member States – Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago - have a woman as Head of Government at this time. We are expecting another to be installed as Head of State and Government next month in Suriname. Only one of our Member States, Guyana, has implemented a 30% gender quota for women in parliament." - Dr.

As a Community, we continue to proactively address persistent inequalities in political representation, the development of policies to decrease the burden of unpaid care, and the unique challenges faced by women in marginalised communities, including indigenous women, rural women and those living with disabilities. The intersectionality of gender and other forms of inequality must guide our actions, ensuring that no woman is left behind.

CARICOM Guidelines and Protocols on the Collection and Use of Administrative Data on Violence against Women and Girls

These guidelines are intended to help improve the quality of administrative data on VAWG, and the ethical practices which attend the collection of this data.
