Barbados is proud to welcome the Region and the world to its shores for CARIFESTA XV, the Caribbean’s premier arts and culture festival, launching on 22 August. This vibrant celebration will showcase the richness and diversity of Caribbean creativity through music, dance, theatre, visual arts, literature, and more.

The Forty-Ninth Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) was held in Montego Bay, Jamaica from 6-8 July under the chairmanship of Dr the Most Honourable Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica.

Creative Industries are crucial to sustainable development in small countries— CARICOM Advisor, Social Development
There is now a significant increase in regional and global awareness of the value and importance of the creative industries, and how they can contribute to sustainable development in small countries in the global South. These views were shared by Beverly Harry-Emmanuel, Advisor, Social Development at the CARICOM Secretariat at the opening ceremony of the Thirty-First Meeting of the Regional Cultural Committee (RCC), held today, Thursday 26 June, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre in Bridgetown, Barbados.
