The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC), in collaboration with the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (GoSVG), on 26 November 2024, launched a US$3M project to fast-track climate action.

I am indeed happy, that since arriving on the weekend, many had the opportunity to attend both Miss SVG on Saturday night, and the adventurous field tour yesterday, which took us sailing along the Leeward Coast, and we were able to see the Windward side of the island up to Spring.

Bridgetown, Barbados – September 10, 2024 – The CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) has made a cash contribution of US$100,000 or approximately EC$270,000 from its Emergency Disaster Assistance Facility (EDAF) to the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to assist in recovery efforts following the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl on July 1, 2024.
In response to the recent catastrophic hurricane that struck Carriacou and Petite Martinique of Grenada, and Union Island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) has purchased essential public health supplies to assist in improving hygiene, sanitation, and the prevention and control of vector-borne and other infectious diseases. The donation to Grenada was made on July 31st and the donation to St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be done on August 7th, 2024.
“CARPHA’s multisectoral Rapid Response Team stands ready to provide immediate support in surveillance, food, water and environmental safety and vector-borne disease control to our Member States. Our regional referral laboratories are also ready to provide rapid testing of clinical, food, water and environmental samples as needed.”

The importance of investing in youth, including treatment and rehabilitation for those who are using and addicted to alcohol and other drugs, was underscored at the Official Opening of the Regional Adolescent Training Workshops on 4 February 2019 in Trinidad and Tobago. To this end, partnerships, relevant policies and adolescents’ prevention programmes, among others, were emphasised by speakers who represented the CARICOM Secretariat, Delegation of the European Union, Organisation of the American States (OAS) and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.
