Ruling party to focus on economic growth and national development

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC - Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has assured supporters of the ruling People’s National Party (PNP) that her administration is working towards economic growth and national development, with job creation the target.
Simpson Miller, who is also PNP President told hundreds of supporters who gathered at the National Arena in the Corporate Area on Sunday , that although things are hard, the government is creating an enabling environment to facilitate investments. She noted that J$6 billion has been set aside for funding small businesses through various programmes.
“We have developed a growth and development agenda and we are making progress. That growth must come from small and medium size businesses that guarantee employment ……our eyes are fixed on job creation”.
