Science and Technology

CARICOM’s science and technology work promotes innovation capacity and technological resilience, focusing on regional coordination that helps Member States translate research, standards, and emerging technologies into practical development outcomes. The programme’s logic is to treat S&T as cross-cutting infrastructure for competitiveness—supporting productivity in priority sectors and strengthening regional problem-solving capability.

PANCAP

PANCAP advances the regional HIV response through partnership-based coordination, sustaining strategic attention to prevention, treatment continuity, and systems-level resilience. In the annual-report structure, it is presented as a defined component of the wider health and wellness portfolio, reflecting CARICOM’s commitment to sustained, collective action on HIV.

Information and Communications Technology for Development (ICT4D)

ICT4D (ICT for Development) focuses on leveraging digital technologies to improve service delivery, inclusion, and productivity, aligning “technological resilience” with development outcomes. In the annual-report architecture, ICT is treated as a core enabler across sectors—supporting new ways of working, regional collaboration, and more responsive institutions.

Environment and Sustainable Development

Sustainable development provides the integrative policy frame linking economic transformation, social outcomes, and environmental resilience. The programme supports coordinated regional approaches that allow Member States to pursue growth while addressing vulnerability and long-term sustainability constraints

Industrial Development

Industrial development advances production capability and competitiveness by supporting policies and initiatives that encourage diversification, stronger value chains, and improved conditions for enterprise growth. The programme’s strategic intent is to help Member States shift toward higher-value activity and deepen regional economic linkages

Agricultural Development

Agricultural development strengthens regional food systems by supporting coordinated approaches to production, resilience, and agri-food transformation, especially under climate and external-shock pressures. The programme aligns food security priorities with regional economic recovery and social resilience objectives, reinforcing agriculture’s role in livelihoods and intra-regional supply.
