Regional Cultural Committee meets in Haiti on CARIFESTA XII

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Regional Cultural Committee (RCC) is currently in Haiti for its twenty-third meeting from 8-9 July, 2015.

The main topic for discussion  is  preparation for the Twelfth Caribbean Festival of Art (CARIFESTA XII) which will take place across five cities in Haiti from 21-30 August, 2015.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Programme Manager, Culture, at the CARICOM Secretariat, Dr. Hilary Brown, said that the RCC has been convened in Haiti so that Directors of Culture could be better enabled to assist Haiti prepare for CARIFESTA next month. She said significant attention would be given to discussing and guiding preparations for the Festival.

She also said the meeting of the RCC provided another opportunity for reflection, review and renewal to ensure that national and the Regional culture agendas met the needs of  stakeholders.
