(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) At least two CARICOM Youth Ambassadors (CYAs) have ensured that the voices of youth resounded on the issue of Sexual Health and Reproduction, through their participation in a panel discussion held Tuesday 11 July in Saint Lucia, in observance of World Population Day.
The exercise was staged by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and involved more than 30 CYAs, as well as local and regional officials. It was moderated by Dominica’s CARICOM Youth Ambassador, Fenella Wenham.
The Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and other Health Professions (CAAM-HP) has fully accredited the University of the West Indies’ Medical Programme, lauding it for its “outstanding students, enthusiastic and committed teachers including residents (house staff).
In a letter to the Vice Chancellor of the UWI, Professor Nigel Harris, the Board of CAAM-HP noted that “graduates of the MBBS course of UWI, achieve high international standards at the time of graduation.”

With the Ninth Caribbean Festival of Arts (CARIFESTA 1X) billed for 22 September-1 October in Trinidad and Tobago, CARICOM’s Consultant for CARIFESTA, Dr. Carole Maison-Bishop used the Festival as a platform to promote the Caribbean cultural exposition.

This could be the case as the Caribbean has mapped a policy framework for tackling IAS with the development of the Caribbean Regional Invasive Species Intervention Strategy (CRISIS) and the establishment of the Caribbean Agricultural Health and Food Safety Agency (CAHFSA)
