Chairman of CARICOM Reparations Commission addresses British House of Commons

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     Chairman of the CARICOM Reparations Commission Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, in a presentation to the British House of Commons on 16 July 2014, expressed the view that the reparations process will bring honour and dignity to the people of the Caribbean as well as the people of Great Britain and Europe. He also predicted that “this 21st Century will be the century of global reparatory justice.”

CARICOM Secretariat to empower Guyana’s youth with animation skills

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     A group of young people in Guyana will get an opportunity to learn valuable animation skills through a project coordinated by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat.
The project, which is being implemented in collaboration with Animae Caribe and the Guyana Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, is designed around the use of animation as a tool to address youth crime and violence, and safeguard cultural heritage.

PANCAP Shocked and Saddened by Loss of Colleagues on Flight MH17

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     The Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP) says it is deeply saddened that a number of great friends in the fight against HIV may have been lost in the devastating crash of Malaysia flight MH17 last week.

CARICOM and Japan to Hold First Summit

Statement By The Secretary-General, Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Ambassador Irwin Larocque On The Palestinian/Israeli Conflict

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)      The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) condemns the killing of three Israeli teenagers and the revenge killing of a young Palestinian.  The Community is deeply concerned by the resulting escalation of violence between Israel and the Palestinian territory of Gaza with the continuing Israeli bombardment of Gaza and the firing of Palestinian rockets targeting Israeli cities.

Migrant Awareness Raising Sessions Held in Guyana
