Job Description

The U.S. Mission in Grenada is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Public Engagement Assistant. The work schedule for this position is full time full time 40 hours per week.

Duties

The Public Diplomacy Specialist works under the direct supervision of the Principal Officer (PO) at U.S. Embassy Grenada and under the review of the Public Affairs Officer at U.S. Embassy Bridgetown. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.  The incumbent monitors regional press and media coverage of issues of importance to the U.S; identifies and advises U.S. Embassy leadership in Grenada and Bridgetown on strategies for promoting accurate, balanced regional media coverage of U.S. foreign policy and American interests, correcting misinformation, and countering disinformation; is the leading LE Staff strategist/advisor responsible for post’s Public Diplomacy (PD) engagement with established opinion leaders and emerging voices, including youth, influential individuals and institutions such as think tanks, syndicates, labor unions, professional associations, civil society organizations, and professional training institutions.  Designs and recommends Public Diplomacy strategies to connect with a range of audiences to build and sustain productive dialogue and promote understanding of and support for U.S. policy.  The incumbent is primary liaison with U.S. Embassy Bridgetown to ensure Integrated Country Strategy goals are met.  Provides administrative support to the office and travelers.
