Haiti remains a land of opportunity-TPC President-Counsellor says

(Caribbean Community Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) - President-Counsellor of the Haitian Transitional Presidential Council (TPC), His Excellency Laurent Saint Cyr, has called on the Community to embrace Haiti as a land of opportunity.

He invited partners to support economic recovery in key sectors such as infrastructure, the green economy, innovation, education and training, cultural tourism, and security, particularly in the greater north and greater south.

CARIFORUM to hold a Regional Consultation on Wider Caribbean dialogue and cooperation

(CARIFORUM Directorate, CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) - As part of its efforts to deepen and strengthen wider Caribbean cooperation, the Caribbean Forum of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (CARIFORUM) will host a regional consultation to consider mechanisms to foster sustainable dialogue and strengthen political, economic and technical cooperation.

CWA 2025 launches 15 July

The 19th edition of the Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA) will be launched on Tuesday, 15 July 2025, setting the stage for the event which will be held in St. Kitts and Nevis from 29 September – 3 October. CWA 2025 will be held under the theme Sowing Change, Harvesting Resilience: Transforming Our Caribbean Food Systems for 2025 and Beyond’.

No sustained prosperity without security – Dr. Holness

Security is a priority area of focus of Chair of the Caribbean Community, Dr. the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, who intends to mobilise the Region to think differently about the scale and magnitude of the problem that is fuelled by drugs, gangs and guns.

"There can be no sustained prosperity without security," the Prime Minister said, pointing out that urgent action is required to confront the growing problem.

Heads of Government honour memory of Caribbean journalist Rickey Singh

Chairman of CARICOM. Dr. the Most Honourable Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica, on Tuesday, 8 July, paid tribute to “esteemed” Caribbean journalist, Rickey Singh, who died on 5 July in Barbados.

“Allow me to take a moment to honour the memory of Rickey Singh, the esteemed Guyana-born journalist whose fearless, incisive reporting shaped Caribbean discourse for over six decades.
