GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands, CMC – The Legislative Assembly in this British Overseas Territory has been prorogued paving the way for the May 22 general elections.
Governor Duncan Taylor signed the necessary proclamation ahead of Nomination day Wednesday.
At least 40 candidates are expected to contest the elections, but Political observers say the election will be a straight fight between the ruling United Democratic Party (UDP) and the People’s Progressive Movement (PPM).
