Mitchell appeals for unity as opposition gears for general election this year

Jan 10, 2013

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada, CMC – The main opposition New National Party (NNP) predicting that a general election will be held this year is urging citizens to unite and help lay the foundation of a long overdue Grenadian renaissance.
Opposition Leader Dr. Keith Mitchell, whose government was defeated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2008 after 13 years in power, said 2013 promises to be a “defining moment in our history.
“It is a historic opportunity, if seized properly that can lay the foundation of a long overdue Grenadian renaissance. Our nation stands at the cross roads, where our collective decisions will determine whether we either slip further, or we halt the slide and return to building on the gains of the last two decades,” he said in a radio and television broadcast on Tuesday night.
