GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – A Caribbean Community (CARICOM) fact finding mission to the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) will present its findings and recommendations to regional leaders when they meet in Trinidad and Tobago next week. The mission, which was headed by Bahamas Foreign Affairs and Immigration Minister Frederick A. Mitchell was mandated by the regional leaders to review the situation in the Turks and Caicos Islands, following the return of parliamentary democracy last year. A brief CARICOM Secretariat statement said that the mission ended its visit on Wednesday and that “the delegation will present its findings and recommendations to the CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting being held in Trinidad and Tobago on 4-6 July”.
