MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE SENT TO UNITED NATIONS ORGANISATION ON THE BOMBING OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICES IN BAGHDAD, IRAQ.

The Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat presents his compliments to the Secretary-General of the United Nations Organisation and wishes to express his shock at the bombing of the United Nations offices in Baghdad, and the death of Special Envoy Sergio Vieira de Mello and other United Nations officials who lost their lives or were injured in pursuit of the noble goal of peace.

The Secretary-General wishes further to convey his sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragedy and the nations who today mourn their citizens.

The Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat avails himself of this opportunity to renew to the Secretary-General of the United Nations Organisation, the assurances of his highest consideration.
