The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is saddened by the crash of Voepass Linhas Aéras Flight 2283 in Brazil on 9 August which resulted in the deaths of over 60 persons.
We convey our deepest condolences to President Lula da Silva, the bereaved families and the people of the Federative Republic of Brazil on the losses suffered due to this tragic accident.
Our thoughts and prayers also go out to the Governments of Portugal and Venezuela which lost nationals.
CARICOM stands in solidarity and support with them during this time of mourning.
