PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad - The board of directors for Caribbean Airlines is on schedule to present its report to the Finance Minister within its three-month timeframe, chairman Phillip Marshall said yesterday.

King, who led the UWP into defeat in the 2011 general elections, was defeated by a 264-99 margin with Chastanet’s “A” Team also securing a clean sweep of all the executive posts at stake.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC - Jamaica will host the 8th Annual Caribbean Conference on Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) in December, the executive director of the Barbados-based Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), Ronald Jackson, has said. More than 400 delegates are expected to attend the December 2-6 conference which will be held under the theme “CDM for Resilient Development: A Good Investment”. The annual conference is the Caribbean’s premier event on disaster risk management.
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – The Barbados government will table legislation next month to promote green energy, Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Chris Sinckler has said.
Sinckler said the Freundel Stuart government has devised practical ways to build out the alternative energy sector through policy, legislation and fiscal incentives, which will ensure that in terms both of supply and demand, there are reasonable and cost effective solutions available.

If it is not, it must move over and let someone else get on with it. We especially refer to the agency's ability to determine Jamaica's future energy needs, the fuel mix that will meet those requirements at the cheapest cost, and to evaluate bids that will deliver power most economically. To be frank, this newspaper is not now sanguine of the OUR's capacity to deliver.
BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS, CMC – The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) says it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), formalising a collaborative relationship for addressing water priorities in the region. It said the MOU signifies a building block for change as there is undoubtedly a need for greater cooperation on water-related issues in the region.
