PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad - The gloves are not yet off.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar said last night that the United National Congress’ (UNC’s) defeat in the Chaguanas West by-election was no loss and instructed her troops to get ready for the local government elections.
In her concession speech at the UNC’s campaign office in Charlieville around 10 p.m. Persad-Bissessar offered congratulations to Independent Liberal Party (ILP) interim leader Jack Warner, but, in the same breath the Prime Minister urged UNC soldiers to get ready for another battle.
