From Dialogue to Action: Advancing Digital Transformation in the Caribbean

The second edition of the School of Digital Transformation and Innovation in the Caribbean (SoDTIC) successfully convened from 16-20 June 2025 at the Trinidad Hilton and Conference Centre in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. This premier capacity-building initiative brought together policymakers, regulators, academics, technical experts, and development partners from across Latin America and the Caribbean to engage in high-level dialogue and practical training on advancing digital transformation and innovation in the region.

Grenada Prime Minister to chair Special COTED on ICT

Chair of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM and Prime Minister of Grenada, the Hon. Dickon Mitchell, will preside over the 111th Special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) on 5 December 2024, which will focus on Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

REGIONAL INTERNET GOVERNANCE TASK FORCE AMONG GEORGETOWN FORUM RECOMMENDATIONS

(CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana) Information and Communication Technology (ICT) specialists from the Caribbean concluded their recent Internet Governance Forum in Georgetown, Guyana, with a number of recommendations aimed at strengthening the Region’s involvement in the governance and use of the Internet.

High among the recommendations emanating from the Forum is the establishment of a regional Internet Governance Task Force or Secretariat designed to conduct research, formulate policy, and give technical guidance with regard to harmonised regional cyber laws.
