Caribbean ICT Ministers endorse idea for enhancement of Single ICT Space; outline challenges

(St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service) Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 28, 2018 : Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Ministers from across the Caribbean region endorse the idea for enhancement of a Single ICT Space, as it is important to streamline economic development to promote a common identity via travel that facilitates integration of culture.

Protecting consumers in the digital era

It is important to consider the protection of the consumer as many persons now engage suppliers in a different jurisdiction. This was posited by a senior official from the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat during the Barbados Fair Trading Commission’s (FTC) annual lecture series held last evening, 8 March, 2018 at the Accra Beach Hotel & Spa in Barbados.

CARICOM REGION MOBILISES FOR INFORMATION SOCIETY

(CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana) CARICOM Member States are gearing for the technological challenges of globalisation through active participation and cooperation in the sphere of information technology.

As part of preparations for phase two of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), which takes place in Tunisia November 2005, several Regional organisations and institutions are meeting at the CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Wednesday, 12 January for a CARICOM Regional Stakeholders Meeting.
