Rt. Hon. Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica, this morning used the international platform of the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to reinforce the need for financing for Small Island and Developing States (SIDS) given the existential threats climate change poses for these countries.

The Jamaican Prime Minister was speaking at the Combined Forum hosted at the Queen Elizabeth Centre, London, United Kingdom (UK).

The Bishops’ High School in Georgetown, Guyana, hosted its annual 9th Grade (3rd Form) CARICOM Project at the school on Friday, 13 April, 2018.

This year’s activity was observed under the theme, ‘Climate: Resilience and Mitigation – Safeguarding Our Physical and Cultural Integrity’

Two CARICOM Member States – Dominica, and Haiti – were featured this year. The other country featured was Puerto Rico.

  In the margins of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, and colleague Caribbean heads of government met today, Tuesday, April 17^th, 2018, with H. E. Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the Rt. Hon. Theresa May, at Downing Street in London, England, where she apologized to them over the Windrush generation controversy.

Thursday 5 April 2018, Georgetown Guyana: Sustainability of the Region’s HIV response continues to be a priority of the Pan Caribbean Partnership against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP). Today, 5 April 2018, Director of PANCAP Mr Dereck Springer met with Finance Secretary Dr Hector Butts at the Ministry of Finance (Guyana) to discuss sustainability and HIV domestic financing.

Mr Springer was accompanied by Dr Martin Oditt, UNAIDS Country Director and Dr Edward Greene, PANCAP Advisor.

International and regional organisations are scheduled to be in Barbados from April 4-6, 2018, for the 32nd meeting of the Council of Directors of the CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards & Quality (CROSQ).
