Former Barbados PM to deliver lecture on nation building in The Bahamas

NASSAU, Bahamas, CMC – Former Barbados prime minister Owen Arthur will speak on the “philosophy of nation building” as part of the activities by the College of the Bahamas marking the country’s 40th anniversary of political independence. Arthur, who served as prime minister from 1994-2008, will deliver the lecture on Friday, the final day of The Bahamas at 40 Independence Conference. Co-chair of the Conference Planning Committee Dr. Christopher Curry, said that the process of nation building in the Caribbean cannot be examined without considering the long and tortuous legacy of colonialism in the region.
