Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, Greater Georgetown, Guyana – With the interruptions of conventional schooling due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and concerns about learning loss, a multi-partnership is underway to establish a Model Learning Recovery and Improvement Strategy for Caribbean Schools.

CARPHA Receives Medical Supplies from the People’s Republic of China

The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) received medical supplies from the People’s Republic of China to help in the fight against COVID-19. As the follow-up to the special vice-ministerial meeting on COVID-19 via video link on 12 May, 2020, that China and nine Caribbean countries attended, China provides medical supplies respectively to participating countries as well as the CARICOM Secretariat, to be specific, to CARPHA.

CARICOM CMOs Lauded for Role in Successful Management of COVID-19

The Region’s Chief Medical officers were lauded for their role in helping the Region to successfully manage the COVID-19 outbreak so far. The sentiments were expressed by the Director of Human Development at the CARICOM Secretariat Helen Royer. She was giving welcome remarks at an opening ceremony of the the 28th Meeting of Chief Medical Officers of the Caribbean Community recently.
