Preliminary Report | CARICOM Election Observation Mission to Curaçao General Elections held on 21 March 2025

By way of letter dated February 11, 2025, Dr. Richeline C. Joe, President of the Supreme Election Council of Curaçao (SEC), invited the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to send a technical team to observe the general elections in Curaçao. In response, the Secretary-General of CARICOM agreed to deploy a CARICOM Election Observation Mission (CEOM), comprised of three persons. The general elections were held on March 21, 2025.

The key objectives of the CEOM were to:

CARICOM, Peru advancing stronger diplomatic and cooperation ties

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) - The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Peru are strengthening their diplomatic and cooperation ties, with Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett noting that this relationship could serve as a prime example of South-South cooperation.

A significant step in solidifying their relationship was recorded on Wednesday 19 March, when Dr Barnett accredited a new Extraordinary Ambassador of Peru to CARICOM, Her Excellency Claudia Giuliana Betalleluz Otiura.
