EU: T&T manufacturers to benefit from EPA

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Guardian - Local manufacturers stand to benefit from the adoption of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between Cariforum and the European Union (EU), Daniela Tramacere, head of the EU delegation in Port-of-Spain said in an e-mail to the T&T Guardian. Cariforum is comprised of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) plus the Dominican Republic.

In immediate reaction to the Senate’s passage of the bill ratifying the EPA, she said: “The EU congratulates T&T for adopting the bill to implement the Economic Partnership Agreement between Cariforum and the European Union. T&T has a strong and vibrant manufacturing sector and growth potential in the services sector that can now take advantage of the agreement.”
