Regional Procurement Regime Consultations Continue

The CARICOM Secretariat continues its series of national consultations in Member States to advance the implementation of the Community Procurement Regime within the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME). On Tuesday, January 19, Belize wrapped up its two-day consultation that focused on the system requirements and infrastructure for a fully functioning Community Public Procurement Notice Board (CPPNB). The (CPPNB) is the electronic platform and system that will be established for the publication of all procurement opportunities in Member States.

Regional Sensitisation and Needs Assessment Workshops convened

A capacity-building project which focuses on Competition, Pubic Procurement and Customs and Trade Facilitation for CARIFORUM stakeholders was formally launched this morning ahead of a workshop to sensitise participants on the training opportunities available under the project. A workshop to conduct an assessment of training needs of CARIFORUM States in the three referenced areas will follow on 26th-27thMarch 2015.

Caribbean countries to benefit from EU funds

BRUSSELS, Mar 11, CMC – Caribbean countries are expected to benefit from funds being made available to the African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) states under the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) that has now come into full force.

Ensure projects agreed upon, adress challenges of Member States - Secretary General urges CARIFORUM Ministers

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Caribbean Forum of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (CARIFORUM), Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, on Thursday urged CARIFORUM Ministers to ensure projects agreed upon address challenges faced by Member States.

He was speaking during the Twenty-first Meeting of the CARIFORUM Council of Ministers held in Grenada on October 31, 2013. 

11th EDF Expected to Help Meet the Challenges of Caribbean Development
