Regional statisticians and agriculture stakeholders are participating in a workshop in Trinidad and Tobago aimed at building capacity to measure and monitor food security and nutrition (FSN).
Statisticians from across the Region are in Guyana for a training programme on statistical data and metadata eXchange (SDMX). The workshop, hosted by the CARICOM Secretariat in collaboration with the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), is being held at the Bureau of Statistics office in Georgetown. It began on Monday, 22 April, and will conclude on Friday, 26 April.

There is a vital role for statistics to play in the reconstruction of Caribbean islands that were severely damaged by the recent hurricanes that swept through the Region, Project Director, Regional Statistics, Dr. Philomen Harrison said last week.

The Board of Directors of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) has approved a country strategy for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago for the period 2017 to 2021. The strategy proposes financial support of US$436.7M from CDB.
