ROSEAU, Dominica, CMC – Dominica’s national debt is in excess of EC$700 million (One Ec dollar = US$0.37 cents), the island’s director of audit, Clarence Christian has said.
Speaking on the state-owned DBS radio, Christian said the total central government debt was EC$702.8 million with external debt accounting for EC$520.9 million.
He said the value of unpaid cheques, which people have not collected, is in excess of three million dollars.
