ROSEAU, Dominica, CMC – Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has confirmed that the Speaker of the Dominica parliament, Alix Boyd-Knights, has been nominated to replace President Eluid Williams when his term expires in October.
Williams was elected to the post in September last year with the main opposition United Workers Party (UWP) legislators boycotting the event. The UWP later took the matter to court.
Williams was elected to complete the term of then President Nicholas Liverpool who resigned because of ill-health.
