Developed countries criticised over failure to transfer technology

Oct 08, 2013

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC - Guyana’s Agriculture Minister, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, has criticised the world’s rich countries over their failure to transfer to developing nations the technology needed to fast track their development.
Ramsammy said their failure has led to developing countries being unable to meet Millennium Development Goal (MDG) number 8.
The MDGs are the world's time-bound and quantified targets for addressing extreme poverty while promoting gender equality, education, and environmental sustainability by 2015. Goal number 8 speaks of developing a global partnership for development.
