Community Institutions discuss

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Chronicle - CARICOM Draft Strategic Plan THE Draft Strategic Plan that will drive the CARICOM Reform Process continued to be developed with discussions among the Community Institutions at the CARICOM Secretariat Headquarters in Guyana, on Monday. The purpose of the discussions was to solicit the views of the Institutions on a direction, priorities, framework for implementation, areas of collaboration and the requirements for strategic management.

According to a release from the CARICOM Secretariat, the aim was also to receive proposals for amendments to the Draft Plan that will be submitted to the Community Council at the end of May and then to the Heads of Government in July.

Institutions and agencies represented at the meeting on Monday included the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI), Caribbean Centre for Development Administration (CARICAD), Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), Caribbean Safety and Security Oversight System (CASSOS), Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH), Council of Legal Education (CLE), Caribbean Law Institute Centre (CLIC), Caribbean Meteorological Organisation (CMO), Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM), Caribbean Regional Organisation for Standards and Quality (CROSQ), Caribbean Examination Council (CXC), Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), CARICOM Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS), Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), University of the West Indies (UWI), Caribbean Knowledge Learning Network Agency (CKLNA), CARICOM Development Fund (CDF), Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) and the CARICOM Competition Commission (CCC).
