Digicel Entrepreneur of the Year Awardee 2015

Mr. Jean Odelin Ordelus, in being a recipient of the Digicel Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Construction Category. Mr. Ordelus launched his company, OD Peint Groupe Construction, at the age of 19.

Jean Odelin started OD Peint in 2002 at the tender age of just 19 – more to get away from the gas station job he was working in at the time than because it was convinced it was the business for him.

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Dec 10 2015 (IPS) - Jimmi Jones and wife Sandra Lee’s fish farm in Belize City is unique. His fish tanks supply water and nutrients for his vegetable garden needs and the plants filter the water that is recycled back to the tanks.

Jones has been showing off the “JimSan Aquaponics” style of organic farming in meetings across the Caribbean to support efforts by the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM) in promoting aquaculture as a food security option in combatting global climate change.

Grenada wins ‘Best Honey in the World’ prize

LONDON, England -- At the 84th National Honey Show held in London, the highly coveted Medal of Ukraine, which is awarded to the best honey in the world outside of the British Isles, was won this year by Eden Apiaries, a boutique organic apiary from the Caribbean island of Grenada.

The winning beekeepers are environmental scientist Dr Valma Jessamy and Jerry Edwin, an attorney. They own and operate Eden Apiaries located at the Grenville Vale Tropical Botanic Garden.
