BRIDGETOWN, Barbados -- Domestic workers and artisans in five countries who want to move to another country within the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) now have access to support services through collaboration with the Caribbean Policy Development Centre (CPDC) under the ‘Making CSME Work for Domestics and Artisans’ project.
Regional trade policymakers are calling for further sensitisation and education on gender mainstreaming in their respective territories as they came to the end of Day two of Caribbean Development Bank’s (CDB) seminar on Gender Mainstreaming in Caribbean Trade Policies and Programmes, now on in Barbados.
Regional trade policy makers are being urged to ensure that gender equality and gender mainstreaming is integral in their future foreign trade policies and national development strategies.
This advice from representatives of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the International Trade Centre (ITC) during Day One of a four-day seminar, examining Gender Mainstreaming in Caribbean Trade Policies and Programmes. The CDB and ITC are co-hosting the seminar from June 16 – 19 at the CDB Headquarters in Barbados.
The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) is hosting some 50 trade officials from across the Region for a workshop focusing on the importance of gender equality in achieving national and regional trade goals and objectives.
