Christopher Brathwaite

Christopher Brathwaite is a 25-year-old emerging professional in global affairs and foreign policy. He brings experience in international relations through professional attachments with the Embassy of Barbados in Washington, D.C., the Organization of American States, and the Embassy of Japan to Barbados.

As a student of global affairs, he believes the way forward is through developing contemporary policies and strengthening collaborative diplomacy. In order to design a Barbados and West Indies region which works for all of us, youth must have a contributory seat at the decision-making table, even if they must bring one themselves.

He credits his time at the University of the West Indies at Mona and his work at the Organization of American States as transformative experiences in developing his vision for regional integration and unity. He knows that we are a people connected, not separated, by water.

Brathwaite earned a BSc. in International Relations and Tourism Management with First Class Honours from the University of the West Indies at Mona in Kingston, Jamaica. He recently completed a Master of Public Administration, specialising in International Development Policy from the University of Washington, Seattle WA, as a Fulbright Scholar.
