“The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) extends heartfelt condolences to the Government and People of Turkey on the loss of almost 100 lives from the tragic bombings in Ankara on Saturday, 10 October.
The Caribbean Community unreservedly condemns this callous and heinous terrorist act. The deadly twin explosions have been made more tragic because they appeared to target persons taking part in a peace rally. The innocent victims will have laid down their lives in defence of peace and of their right to freedom of association and expression.
The Community expresses its solidarity with the Government and People of Turkey at this moment of national mourning and joins with the families who have lost loved ones in sharing their sorrow and hope for a speedy recovery of the many other persons who were injured.”
