CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque has extended congratulations to the Government and people of The Bahamas on the country’s 42nd Anniversary of Independence.
In a message to Bahamian Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Perry Christie, the Secretary-General said CARICOM was pleased and honoured to count The Bahamas among its membership, noting that by its solid democracy, political stability and economic resilience even in these difficult times of systemic global change, the people of The Bahamas have constructed a culture and a nation of which they can be justifiably proud.
