Prime Minister Gonsalves addressed the Summit on the opening day Friday and Prime Minister Anthony will do so on Saturday. The summit ends on Sunday.
CARICOM and other world leaders, heads of global financial institutions and other dignitaries are attending the summit in New York, where, after months of intense negotiations, the United Nations is set to launch a landmark new framework for sustainable development that will aim to end poverty and build a life of dignity for all, leaving no one behind.
The UN’s 193 Member States will formally adopt the new framework, Transforming Our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development , composed of 17 goals and 169 targets to wipe out poverty, fight inequality and tackle climate over the next 15 years.
