CARICOM Day Message 2024 from Dean, CARICOM Youth Ambassadors

Jul 04, 2024

As we commemorate our 51st CARICOM Day, I want to acknowledge the strong bond that unites our nations. This year, we face the challenges and aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, which has impacted our Member States. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this devastating event.

This hurricane has underscored the importance of collective effects in creating a climate-resilient and adaptive Region. In the face of such calamities, our strength and unity become evident. CARICOM is renowned for its ability to unite and support one another during difficult times. I have seen the incredible bravery, compassion, and determination in their response to the hurricane, epitomising the essence of our regional identity.

At times like these, I encourage our youth to take the lead in the relief efforts, demonstrating our leadership and commitment to our communities. Our actions will serve as powerful reminders that our future is in capable and caring hands.

On this CARICOM Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to working together for sustainable development, disaster preparedness, and the well-being of all our citizens. Together, we can overcome any challenge and continue to build a brighter, more unified future for our Region.
