Executive Directors and other senior officials of Caribbean Community Institutions have updated Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett about the adverse effect of the current geopolitical developments on their ability to deliver essential services to the Region.

The developments were highlighted during a virtual meeting which the Secretary-General convened with Executive Directors and other senior officials of Community Institutions on Tuesday, 29 April.

You are ambassadors of our Caribbean values and champions of cooperation, cultural diversity, and resilience. Let this moment inspire you to continue to embrace leadership roles and advocate for positive change in your communities.

By way of letter dated 10 December 2024, CARICOM was invited by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to deploy an Election Observation Mission to observe the Parliamentary Elections to be held in 2025.

‘Girls in ICT, Building CARICOM’ is the theme guiding the Community's celebration of International Girls in ICT Day on 24 April. The Day is an annual observance led by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to encourage girls and young women to pursue careers in information and communication technologies (ICT) and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEM/STEAM).  

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM), on 4 April 2025, began a series of regional thematic consultations dedicated to formulating the CARICOM Ocean Policy and Governance Framework. The consultation took place in Miami, Florida, in the margins of the Regional Preparatory Workshop for the first meeting of the Preparatory Commission on the Agreement on Marine Biodiversity of Areas beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ Agreement).
