Attorney general warns about illegal drugs trade

Jul 19, 2013

ROSEAU, Dominica, CMC – Attorney General Levi Peter is urging Dominicans to stay away from the illegal drugs trade after a number of people appeared in court on Thursday following police seizure of drugs estimated at more than a million dollars (One EC dollar = US0.37 cents).
“Human nature being what it is, greed is blinding many of us to the dangers of this drug menace. People are prepared to close their eyes, collude and get themselves involved with people who they know are involved in this activity because of material gain.
“Thankfully the police and other authorities in the state have been very successful in recent times,” he said praising the work of the other intelligence units here.
