CARICOM advances strategies to enhance regional and external trade at 60th COTED meeting

(Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) - The recently concluded Sixtieth (60th) Regular Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) marked significant progress in advancing measures for enhanced economic integration, competitiveness, and strategies for addressing bilateral and multilateral trade issues.

COTED to convene 60th Regular Meeting in Georgetown

(Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) - The Sixtieth (60th) Regular Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) is scheduled to take place in Georgetown, Guyana, 10-11 June, under the chairmanship of the Hon. Kerrie Symmonds, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados.

The CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr Carla Barnett and the COTED Chair will deliver remarks at the opening session of the Meeting.

UNITED STATES-MIGRATION-US arrest suspected Bahamian human smugglers

FLORIDA, CMC - The United States Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBPA) says it has arrested two Bahamian men suspected of smuggling seven migrants, including Haitians, into the country.


The agency said that the migrants came into the country on a vessel from the Bahamas and that border patrol agents had been alerted to the matter on Saturday.

Regional Trade Ministers to Decide on Tough External Trade Issues
