Barbados, St Vincent and the Grenadines reaffirm commitment to CARICOM

Her Excellency Veronica Griffith, Plenipotentiary Representative of Barbados to CARICOM and His Excellency Allan Alexander, Plenipotentiary Representative of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to CARICOM were accredited by CARICOM Secretary-General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque in a short ceremony at the Secretariat’s headquarters in Georgetown, Guyana.

CARICOM, Serbia formalise diplomatic relations

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Republic of Serbia on Wednesday formalised diplomatic relations with the first Ambassador accredited to CARICOM from the south eastern European country.

CARICOM Secretary-General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, accepted the credentials of His Excellency Djerdj Matković at a simple ceremony at the Headquarters of the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown, Guyana, on 11 January 2017, welcoming him to the “Community’s network of friends.”

CARICOM, Kazakhstan sign support grant agreement

A US$770,000 grant support package will become available to Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Member States from the Republic of Kazakhstan to strengthen capacity in the areas of climate change and sustainable development.

CARICOM, Australia strengthen ties

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Australia continue to strengthen an already rewarding relationship, which among other things, has seen 128 CARICOM nationals benefitting from major scholarship programmes and leadership awards.

CARICOM, Japan strengthen decades-old ties

The long-standing friendship that has existed between the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Japan was strengthened on Thursday 25 February, with the accreditation of new Ambassador of Japan to CARICOM, His Excellency Mitsuhiko Okada.

Since 1993, relations between CARICOM and Japan have been moving apace. There have been a Summit of Heads of Government, four Ministerial sessions, and 17 consultations held among senior officials.

Israel renews commitment to support CARICOM development

 As the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) accredits a new Israeli envoy, the Middle-Eastern state has reaffirmed its commitment to assist CARICOM to achieve its ideals.
